Last month Caridon Foundation asked you all to support our ‘charity box’ in local Tesco stores to help raise vital funds for tenants who come to us from the streets, with literally just the clothes they stand up in.
We were up against some pretty stiff competition (after all, who doesn’t want to support a fluffy kitten or a blossoming boy scout!). But thanks to the socially minded members of the public (and hopefully many of you too) CF came second and were granted £2000 to put towards new Start Up Packs for our tenants.
Just the other day we signed up a gentleman who had absolutely nothing, no duvet, no kettle, no pillow – simple everyday items we so easily take for granted. Simple everyday items he didn’t have. Thanks to this most recent funding we can continue to turn Caridon properties into Caridon homes.
